Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students work hard and enjoy playing sports daily. All day we work on math, spelling, reading and social studies to name a few, but my students LOVE to play outside and learn new skills.

Many times they self select a sport to play and practice.

This gives them an opportunity to get some fresh air, practice teamwork skills such as communication.

I have requested soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs and small cones to give students choice when they play outside. I can work with a small group on skills such as kicking and dribbling to give them confidence when they play with a whole group. In addition, kids also like to relive stress and meditate with yoga mats. I manage this with fitness rotations. Some kids play with the balls, while others stretch and others walk laps on the yard.

Physical fitness and activity is my incentive for them! They love to work hard so that they have time to play outside!
