Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the joy of coming to school on the day that you had P.E. class? My students watch many exciting sports on TV that they have never had the chance to play. My students would love to be able to learn and enjoy a hockey unit with materials donated by your organization.

We are a public K-5 school located in an inner city school.

The majority of our students receive free lunch and come from a variety of ethnic and financial backgrounds. Many of our students are new to the United States and have a love of learning our culture through sports and games.

My Project

The vast majority of our students do not have any opportunity to play and learn new sports and games outside of school. Our school budget for physical education items is scarce. By gaining new P.E. materials our students will have the chance to learn to love movement, foster teamwork, and appreciate the importance of life-long fitness.

At a time when childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes is so present, it is crucial to engage our children in meaningful games, sports, and movement activities.

However, without the resources for quality P.E. materials, it is very difficult to attain this goal.
