My Students

The technology classroom at our school is both a place of escape from the day to day, as well as a perpetual opportunity for students to explore new ways to interact and engage with the world around them.

My students have all been classified with either "emotional disturbance" or "autism" during their academic careers and presently carry Individual Educational Plans in order to achieve an optimal learning experience.

All of the instruction and attention given at our school is individualized in order to foster the development of our students as they pursue a functional level of independence.

My Project

Our class will be doing a unit on the fundamentals photography this year. Once they are confident with their cameras, they will be responsible for documenting the projects that we take on over the remainder of the school year. Finally, they will learn to organize these images and curate them for the school yearbook.

This project will give students the opportunity to explore a new medium of expression while examining what they deem to be important enough to document.

It will also giving them agency over what they share with their school community and potentially motivate them to consistently perform at their best.
