My Students

Help us to forever "capture" the significance and beauty of ocean life by helping us to purchase a classroom digital camera and memory card! Having both items will give us the opportunity to enhance our marine research projects!

My 4th grade students learn best through hands-on experience.

We are a high needs beach-area community in Southern California where a significant number of students are on free and reduced lunch, low income families, second language population, and special education.

My Project

Students will learn to respect their ocean community by researching various marine species, aiding them in understanding the importance of the ecosystem. They will capture pictures of not only the flourishing ocean life, but the the devastation that pollution has on ocean animals and plants. Students will research ocean topics and integrate photography and writing into reports to share with fellow classmates.

Enrichment programs and technology are an integral component of ensuring our children a quality education.

Unfortunately, budget cuts have severely impacted our academic programs. It is imperative that my students learn to make a difference. Through research, ocean immersion and physical oceanography, they learn to have a life-long admiration and esteem for marine life. These activities help students to understand about how to help prevent devastation of pollution and how to take care of the ecosystem of kelp forests.
