My Students

Our classroom is a pre-k class for children with special needs and typically developing children in an inner-city school district. We have two half-day classes that are in session Monday through Friday.

Half of my students are three to five years old with a variety of disabilities.

The other half are typically developing students that will return for another year of preschool or transition to kindergarten for the next school year.

They love to build with blocks, work on floor puzzles, "read" books, explore art materials and interact with a variety of other materials. Many of my students have very limited language skills and social interaction skills. They come to school each day excited to learn!

My students all receive free breakfast and lunch and many receive food bags donated by a local church to take home each week for the weekends.

My Project

This project would be replacing materials (photo paper and ink) that are used all year long.

Please help me replace materials that I use for making my classroom more personalized by taking photographs and using them for the students' name tags, cubby labels also used to label shelves so that students can easily find where materials belong!

Many of my students do not recognize their names in print yet, so by having their photographs they can easily find their name tags and cubbies. It also helps to personalize our classroom so that they feel like they belong.
