My students need disposable cameras to create photo diaries for a writing project.

My Students

My school is a small, rural school in Oklahoma just starting to bridge the technology gap. It is difficult to keep up with the growing technology with the budget shortfalls this year. We are a Title I school with 55% of the students coming from low-income families.

How do we implement technology into our classrooms without sufficient funding?

My students are very excited to use technology, we just don't have sufficient access.

My Project

The students will use these cameras to create personal diaries. They will have the cameras for one week to take pictures of themselves, family, friends, etc. They will return the cameras after 1 week to be developed.

The disposable cameras will make it possible for the students to create digital stories about themselves.

. They will use the photos as writing prompts to tell about their daily lives and adventures. These diaries will encourage creativity, writing, and the use of technology.

I believe they will be excited about the use the cameras as a medium for story telling. This will also create a creative writing opportunity for the class.
