My Project

I teach 5th-grade special education at a Title 1 school, where many of my students are still working to master the fundamentals of reading and writing. These materials will play a critical role in enhancing my phonics instruction by providing hands-on manipulatives that actively engage students and cater to their diverse learning needs. Many of my students face significant challenges, performing several grade levels behind in reading, which impacts not only their academic progress but also their confidence and ability to succeed in other subjects.

With these resources, I can create dynamic, multisensory lessons that will make learning more interactive and accessible for my students.

By incorporating tools that support phonics, decoding, and fluency, I aim to help them close the gap and build a strong foundation for lifelong literacy. These materials will also allow me to differentiate instruction, ensuring that each student gets the support they need to grow at their own pace. My goal is to empower my students to become confident, independent readers who can tackle challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
