My Students

My students want to learn to read, but they are struggling in this area. They need more fun, hands-on phonics activities that will help them become better readers. By the end of the year, they will be ready for 1st grade and beyond!

My students are highly motivated individuals who like to push themselves.

They just need a little more help to get them to where they need to be. At times, they feel discouraged even when they are trying their best. I always praise them for working hard and trying again to fix their mistakes. My school culture is one where it is okay to try and make a mistake as long as you work hard to fix it.

My Project

My students will use these phonics games and activities during independent work time in reading blocks. They will independently use the materials to focus more on the reading skills they need to master. Having these materials will mean they are using this independent work time productively.

In order for my students to make it to college, they need to be able to read and pass kindergarten.

They need to be at or above the reading levels of their peers in order to make it there. This is an incredibly important time in their lives, and it is critical that they know they are more than capable of making it through elementary school.
