My Project

Learning to read can be intimidating for anyone, but especially for 1st graders who are just grasping the fundamentals. The materials I am requesting will make learning to read fun and engaging. It is my goal for my 1st graders to leave my classroom with the skills they need to become proficient readers. Phonemic and Phonological awareness are the foundations of fluency. These materials will help me set up stations with phonemic and phonological awareness activities that can be run by parent volunteers while I work with the students who struggle the most. With the phonics flashcards, playdoh, and dry erase pockets, I can bring differentiated activities to the classroom that will ensure all students get instruction at the levels they need.
