My Students

The children in my class are all very special, each in their own individual ways. Many of my students are ELL and for most of them, this will be their first experience with school. They are from an inner-city neighborhood, with many things going on in their little lives. They have many outside events that distract them throughout the day. They have minimal supplies at home. They are a very diverse group of children with many different needs.

On March 13th, my students began learning at home.

Our school was closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge, as most of my students do not have access to supplies in their homes. My hope is to make many games that we can use during our Zoom meets, student's homes, and then again in the classroom when we return to school in the Fall. I plan to make extra phonics games over the summer in order to have many games that the kids will be able to use independently in case of restrictions when we return.

My Project

By making these games for my class, my students will be able to borrow for home learning and or play along during Zoom Classes.

These supplies will make a difference for the students in my classroom this year and students in future years.

Having all of these learning games made in advance will save so much time in the future and create more learning time for my students. They will be games that can be played interactively as well as alone.

Preparing the materials so that they are re-usable will save a lot of time. Saving paper will also help the environment.
