My Students

Do you remember when you first realized you could read? That feeling of pure joy and excitement that you had mastered something that seemed so huge and impossible. That feeling is what I want every child in my class to have this year.

I have a very sweet, silly group of Kindergarteners this year.

My students love to learn and work hard. They are never prouder of themselves then when they have learned something new. They also have great parents that encourage them to succeed and learn. Our school falls into the middle area where we do not have the funding that poverty level schools get, but we also do not have the money of schools with wealthy families.

My Project

The Phonics Pop and Match Games that I am requesting will help my students develop those beginning, middle and end sounds that are a necessary part of decoding and reading. These are skills that we work on everyday. The games I am requesting will be used during our word work time. Students will be able to use these games with a teacher or parent volunteer, and then on their own as their skills increase.

By donating to this project you are helping 24 cute Kindergarteners learn to read!

The materials requested will directly build the skills that are necessary for reading. You will be helping these students get the early start they need to be lifelong readers.
