This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello, I am a Resource Specialist Teacher (RST). I work with students across different grade levels and support them with their reading and writing in small groups in a separate setting. This is our first year using a multi-sensory literacy program, providing students with more intensive reading instruction. The resources and supplies I am requesting will make a difference in the students' learning by allowing them to be more engaged in the learning content through different manipulatives. It will also help them gain the necessary tools to improve their fine motor skills and writing.

The word wheel, story starters, phonics rods, and other resources will make learning more meaningful to the students as they use materials that meet their diverse needs; it will help them become more confident readers and writers.

They can also carry these skills to other subjects and help them succeed in their general education classroom.
