My Project

I am a speech- language pathologist in a Title 1, urban school district. I work with students who have speech and language delays and disorders. The majority of them are in the early grades or special education classes and learn language skills through literacy- based lessons.

These Pete the Cat books are perfect for teaching expressive and receptive language because they use functional vocabulary words and familiar settings.

I will be able to develop speech and language therapy sessions using these books that target vocabulary, spatial terms, describing words, and early developing concepts. They are well illustrated books with bright and engaging drawings, so they will be perfect for keeping the children's attention while working on their goals.
