This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am moving to Pre-K next year. I will now have the privilege to teach and inspire our youngest students! I cannot wait to make learning fun and engaging and get their education off to the best start ever. We are a Title I school that prides itself on making sure that all students know they can succeed. The majority of our children are eligible to participate in the free lunch and breakfast program. My students are hard-working and determined to do their best every single day!

My Project

I am requesting 20 copies each of two different Pete the Cat books for my PreK class. First I will read and reread the book to the whole class. As a group, we will learn how to properly care for our books. We will also learn about the many parts of our books. Then, we will read our new books as a class. After we learn all of that, the students will get to take the books home to keep forever. They can now become the teacher and show their families what they have learned about books in PreK.

This project will bring cherished books into my students homes.

It will also teach my little learners how to take care and respect books. The students will be able to return to these books as often as they like and read them over and over again with their families for years to come. A donation to this project will bring books into my students homes and hearts.
