Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are learning how to take care of pets. They love to feed our fish and would benefit from books that talk about pets. Learning to care for a living animal teaches young children empathy as it makes them aware of the feelings and needs of others (animals and humans alike). I have purchased many stuffed animals but would love to supplement their dramatic play with toys that let them explore future careers such as veterinarian and pet groomer. The books would also help them in their social emotional development as they would explain how to deal with the loss of a pet, how to care for living things, and how pets make us feel.
