My Project

Every student wants to fit in and be part of the "cool" group. Unfortunately, my students do not always feel cool nor part of a group. This is because they are hearing impaired and wear hearing aids/BAHAs/cochlear implants, which makes them feel different from everyone. As an educational audiologist, I have experienced many times when the student feels embarrassed being called out of the room so I can check their devices. They do not want to be seen putting on their hearing devices or changing a battery. Let's change this and make it more accepting and fun for my students.

The Cricut Easy Press 3 will allow me to make personalized pencil cases for my students to hold their batteries, hearing device accessories, and anything they want.

I hope this project will allow my students to feel comfortable changing the batteries on their devices without feeling embarrassed. If the batteries are in a cool bag with their name on it, they may feel more comfortable getting them and even showing them to their friends.
