Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are determined and eager learners! They love hands-on, active learning experiences, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are truly an inspiring group of kiddos.

As we engage in a hygiene health unit of study, we strive to create a supportive and healthy environment for all our students in our classroom.

One of the critical aspects of this is ensuring that every student has access to essential personal hygiene and period products. Unfortunately, not all students have the means to obtain these items, which can lead to feelings of embarrassment, distraction from learning, and a decline in overall well-being.

Accidents can happen in the classroom and students may need need feminine products which include sanitary pads of varying sizes and wipes, so I am requesting feminine hygiene products to be used to keep the girls safe, comfortable and clean.

As we engage in a hygiene health and wellness unit of study, my kiddos will be taught lessons on hygiene: proper tooth brushing, use of deodorant, soap, use of period products, etc. while learning about the importance of keeping away germs, staying healthy, and staying fresh.

Additionally, many of my kiddos come to school hungry. I want to have daily snack options for them. When they are nourished, they are better able to process and accomplish goals. The snacks (cookies, chips, and breakfast bars) will be used for this purpose. The requested ink will be used to print out and create educational resources for personal hygiene, as well as future units of study.
