My Students

My students are a diverse group of students from the East NY section of Brooklyn growing up in low income families. Many of our students come from local shelters and need extra LOVE and care support at school. My students are creative, thoughtful innovative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

All of the students are excited to get back to normalcy in the classroom, with the right safety measures in place.

In order to make that happen, I need to provide the students with individual supply boxes that will remain there's throughout the entire school year. I also need to provide students with their own supplies so that there is no cross contamination. I also need to have personal items to use throughout the day. In the classroom we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met!

My Project

Remote learning provides an opportunity for students and teachers to remain connected and engaged with the content while working from their homes. The new blended hybrid model allows for the students and myself to be in the class practicing social distances. I also need to have in place ways for students to keep their things organized and also separate from others. In March of 2020 we made a quick transition from in person learning to online learning. Many students will attend school in-person this fall, but not for the full five-day week. Our school is choosing to offer hybrid learning which is a mixture of in-person and online instruction.

My goal is to make this the best learning experience for all my students in person and at home.

My goal is also to keep everyone safe and learning. Lakeshore Learning supplies, is a resource that would provide me wealth of access to support the instructional endeavors necessary to meet the societal changes we have experienced with COVID-19.

I am dedicated to the profession and to my students.

The resources that I will provide for my students will help them be worry free from others using their supplies and books. It will also help me grade their work, if each child has an easy to erase pocket for their work. By donating to this project you will support the learning of students while at home and in school.
