My Students

My school is a public school in Chicago where 93% of the students are low income. This year, our primary classrooms are made up of about 20 eager learners.

Our students are considered high-needs and have many stresses compared to the average five to eight year-olds.

Because of this, I work very hard to make sure the students at our school receive the learning, resources and exposure they need to surpass what some statistics may say. I am proud of the hard work my students put in each day!

My Project

Currently, there are still a lot of questions in regards to school this fall. One thing we do know is that students will be spending time learning inside and outside of the classroom. My students lack the materials they need to be successful during remote learning. Many of them are in desperate need of personal supplies to enhance their learning.

CDC guidelines dictate that students cannot share supplies when we return to school.

The materials I requested will be used for students to organize their learning at home. The Ziplock Big Bags will be filled with a variety of school supplies including crayons, glue, journals, dry erase sheets, and more! The school supplies will allow them to complete activities assigned while they are learning from home. Punch cards will help me encourage students to keep up with their work. This project will allow my students to get the materials they need to learn in their hands and can be safe by not sharing with other classmates.
