Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books I’m requesting—realistic fiction, manga, mysteries, and young love—will have a big impact on my students' learning by fostering a love of reading through genres that speak to their interests and experiences. Many of my students don’t have access to a wide range of books at home, so providing them with exciting, relatable options can help them build strong reading habits, improve literacy skills, and discover the joy of losing themselves in a good story.

My goal for this project is to create a classroom library that feels personal and relevant to my students, offering them a variety of genres that will draw them in and motivate them to read independently.

With stories that feature relatable characters and captivating plots, I hope to help them build empathy, expand their worldviews, and find reflections of themselves in the stories they read.

What makes my students special is their curiosity, creativity, and openness to exploring new perspectives. They have a hunger for stories that resonate with their experiences, and I want to empower them to explore their identities and interests through literature that feels as dynamic and meaningful as they are.
