Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach language arts to special education students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism. I am so excited to start on this project! The class will be learning about personal finance through storytelling, and they will be writing their own financial literacy narrative. For this project, I will use board games to “create” their life and this will introduce them to financial concepts. They will then use a financial writing prompt such as, “ Write a story about a character who must learn to budget their money to achieve a personal goal.” This project combines creative writing with practical financial knowledge, allowing students to express their understanding of financial literacy in a meaningful and engaging way while developing their language arts skills.
