Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every child should have access to the basic needs of life so that they can focus on their education. At times we have students who need a little additional support at home and we don't always have the resources to provide them with that support. Building my care closet will help assist students with getting all their needs met. When students have their physiological needs met, they can relax and reduce their worries about what they may be lacking. Some of our students struggle to overcome many of the things taken for granted by others such as access to personal hygiene products, and other simple necessities. The hygiene items will help students who need a little extra love to feel clean and comfortable.

Students feel more confident in themselves and can focus on learning when the most basic of needs are met.

Providing a private way to access these items, deodorant, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, chap stick and feminine products allows students opportunities to advocate for themselves, feel supported by their school community, and to be ready to take on their day!

For students who need help with their hair or hygiene, we'll be able to provide them with safe and clean items to make them feel comfortable around their peers and increase their ability to focus and learn. Healthy students miss less school, participate, and tend to learn more. Personal hygiene is part of that success formula.
