This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students arrive to our school eager to learn. They are polite, generous, and strive to be the best they can be. They know that with an education, they can succeed in life and help improve on the lives that they have now.

Our school focuses on families with low incomes and tries to give each student the education they deserve.

While we do not have much, the students use the materials they are given and do the very best they can with them.

My Project

The book Night by Elie Wiesel is one of the most powerful books a student can read. Not only does it tell the story of a Holocaust survivor, but it also tells the tale of the horror of the concentration camps in World War II. Our school is planning to read a book for our 8th grade class and I feel the best book they should read as a group is Night.

It is the perfect book that showcases both the horror of the Holocaust and the perseverance of Elie Wiesel.

It discusses so many themes that I believe it is vital for the students to learn. A book that will impact them throughout their entire lives.
