My Students

All students deserve a chance in the spotlight ! A well rounded education is much more than paper, books, and pencils ! All children deserve the opportunity to become musically enriched.

Hi !

My name is Ms. R., currently a 2nd grade special education teacher during the school day but also a performing arts teacher for all students in our after school programs. The students in my school are blessed to have free after school enrichment classes offered to them. Starting this year I have started an after school program called "center stage". The students in center stage get to experience learning all of the fundamentals of the performing arts.

My Project

The center stage program was very successful this year! Students performed both Frozen the musical and Annie the musical. Students have the opportunity to act, sing and dance in these performances; the one thing we are missing is the perfect piano! Many of the students have the talent to become excellent piano players; but unfortunately, the school does not have the proper equipment. If students had access to a piano the after-school performing arts programs could be expanded to not only the children acting out plays but also able to authentically play the music for the shows. Musical instruments are so important to the development of all children and all students should have the opportunity to learn!

By receiving the donations to fund our piano the students will be given the opportunity to learn to not only play the piano but to use the piano as part of a collaboration in their performing arts productions.
