Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school day consists of cycles of routines, structures, and learning blocks that students look forward to, rely on but importantly strive in. Just as all these have their time and space in the day, week and year so do the organized spaces in the physical environment of the classroom. Every inch of the room has their purpose: whole group at the carpet area, independent and partner/group work at their desks, and finally small group work with the teacher.

Students deserve a space specifically designated for working in small groups or one-on-one with the teacher.

The requested storage cabinet will be used to house all materials needed. Currently I have materials I use with small groups anywhere I can store in the room, and usually have to pull out throughout the day as needed. I then have to quickly put to the side but not necessarily store away properly as every minute counts and we have to quickly transition to the next subject or activity. The storage cabinet will allow me to be organized and have easy access to all materials needed to implement differentiated and intervention support. Equally important is a comfortable space where we meet for these activities. Currently I grab any materials I need and bring it to the carpet area and sit on the floor or clear a set of students' desks. This of course is not always so comfortable nor practical. The kidney activity table will provide my students and myself a convenient and pleasant area to meet. By helping fund this project you help me provide my students with the highest quality of best practices.
