My Students

My students are joyful, high energy, and full of life. They all have big dreams - to be lawyers, basketball players, college graduates, astronomers, and more.

I teach a self-contained, special education class in Maryland at a Title I school where one hundred percent of students receive free lunch.

They are all unique in their personalities and learning styles and demonstrate their knowledge in different ways. In my classroom, they learn critical academic, behavioral, and life skills. I want to give them all the tools they need to be successful and accomplish their goals.

My Project

One of the biggest struggle of virtual learning has been getting students to attend class. With so many distractions at home, it can be hard to motivate students to come to class and learn every day.

The BE Attendance Committee is hosting an at-home Movie Night to celebrate our students with perfect attendance!

We will stream a movie for students, but we also want to provide them with a snack pack of popcorn and hot cocoa to make it cozy and fun. Help us reward our students for their perfect attendance!
