My Project

In first grade, we have an exciting nonfiction unit on penguins!

Students read nonfiction books, measure/compare penguins, and much more!

Our 3 first-grade classrooms work together to read, write, and complete math work during our penguin unit. Students are very excited during these cold winter months and enjoy learning more about this amazing animal. The unit is filled with hands-on experiences as they use items such as the Playful Penguins Ice Blocks activity and the Trisquirrel Topple Pizza Game, which will allow us to work together, brainstorm, and cooperate!

It is so rewarding to watch the students get excited about learning new things in first grade and beyond!

Mrs. Sass will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by June 11.
