My Project

Quality matters! My students are spending a lot of time at the pencil sharpener. Too frequently their pencils splinter and their leads break not only while writing but often while they are being sharpened. Imagine their frustration to have to spend minutes upon minutes returning to the pencil sharpener trying to fix their most important classroom tool.

My students WRITE and DRAW all day long!

Help me give my students, primary journals, quality pencils and an electric pencil sharpener. These students use response notebooks for every subject. For Math, they RDW (Read, Draw, Write) their solution to word problems, in their notebooks. For Language Arts, they display critical thinking and knowledge, in their notebooks. Likewise, for Science they explore, investigate, experiment and respond, in their notebooks.

We currently use notebooks to record EVERYTHING! They are so important. Help me give my students primary journals, with lines for young writers and blank spaces for artistic expressions of ideas. Quality writing pencils, an electric pencil sharpener, and gluten-free play dough are all assets to developing proficiency across all curricular subjects.
