Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students face the challenges of poverty on a daily basis. We are located in the southernmost region of the United States and live in one of the poorest counties in the country. These students, who wake up every morning wanting to learn despite the difficulties that they face at home, are who inspired and motivated me to join this website. I am honored and blessed to serve them and to be part of their lives. This is why reaching out to you is the least I can do to help them improve and be able to reach and experience the same opportunities that others have in our country. My students manage to always have a smile and care for each other as much as possible every single day. Thank you for taking the time to read this short description of my students!

My Project

As a writing teacher I have spent hundreds of dollars this school year on pencils so my students are always ready to go! Every morning I get to school earlier than expected to sharpen their pencils for the day.

Every paycheck I promise myself to buy a nice expensive sharpener that will not stop working after 1 month of use.

It is also true that it is hard for me to afford it with my monthly salary. It's the little things that matter the most!

I have noticed that a student that does not have a nice sharpened pencil will often get distracted and will tend to lose interest on his/her compositions.

Please help me out by donating to this project so I can provide my students with an even more ready to go experience.
