My Students

My students are diverse, quirky and among the kindest human beings I have had the pleasure to know! They are so invested in every opportunity that I can offer them and I'm so excited to introduce literature into our history classroom.

One of the most exciting things about my students is how passionately and empathetically they approach their history education.

They have so many questions about the depth of history and have a desire to understand it in all of its' complexities. They also want to see themselves in history and think a lot about angles of history that reflect their own experiences and backgrounds.

My Project

Being back in the classroom is such a joy, but it has also come with its unique challenges. Spreading out in our building to maintain social distancing has meant that we are using rooms that aren't fully equipped for learning.

Many of our younger students are currently learning history in a room without digital equipment to watch documentaries, view images of primary sources or view agendas.

The two big items in this project will help to rectify that, so that our students can have a multimedia approach to history.

Additionally, the smaller items in the project, from bouncy balls to novelty pencils will help them to keep their spirits up as we work through this difficult time together!
