Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students, like those across the country, face significant challenges. At our continuation high school, we often see students who have fallen behind academically, not due to lack of ability, but because of difficulties in their personal lives. While this isn't always the case, it's common for our students to face unique obstacles.

As an educational institution, we focus not only on academic growth but also on emotional well-being.

To support this, we offer an emotional support group that meets twice a week after school. While students value the group for the benefits it provides, they sometimes find it hard to attend regularly.

To encourage more consistent participation and to incentivize students to complete the course and become peer counselors, we are creating a reward system. We're seeking donations of items that appeal to students, such as sports balls, makeup, and other small prizes, which will be given to students upon their completion of the program. These rewards will help motivate and acknowledge their commitment to both personal growth and helping their peers.
