Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 5 and 6 years old. Sometimes they may have BIG feelings and emotions that they do not know how to deal with or handle properly. I am creating a cozy corners in our classrooms to help support students social emotional learning and overall emotional regulation. I want my students to feel safe and to know that we all have feelings and emotions that are sometimes to much to handle.

The cozy corner will allow students to learn how to self regulate and have ownership of their feelings, actions, and behaviors in a safe way.

The materials in this project are meant to help children calm themselves. The cozy corner will help guide students in regulating their emotions by using fidgets, breathing posters, stress balls and other items to help ease their minds. The cozy corner will allow students to learn how to self regulate and have ownership of their feelings, actions, and behaviors, while still being able to hear the academic material.
