Help us with our peace flags! We have everything except our fabric markers ready to go to complete our peace flags!
Our school is located in downtown Chicago; therefore, we have students from all over the world and from various backgrounds and cultures.
We are one of Chicago's only public international schools and pride ourselves on diversity. We develop challenging projects that encourage our students to become compassionate, lifelong learners.
My Project
By receiving these fabric markers, the students at my school will be able to participate in the Peace Flags in the Wind project. I was lucky enough to have participated in this program in India this past summer, so I have seen, first-hand, the impact this project can have on a child. By creating a peace flag that illustrates what peace means to each student, they will be able to see that, no matter what religion, ethnicity or cultural background they come from, we are all striving for the same thing: Peace!
We have worked very hard to create an inquiry-based school culture that is based upon acceptance and understanding.
We are constantly finding new ways, such as this project, to help show our students how to become peaceful, global citizens of the world.
