My Project

Many students have difficulties finding peace within themselves, and when the outside world is overstimulating, this makes life much more complex. When the students' environment is “normal” to some, but complex to them, they need a safe sanctuary. Some students do not sit well in a metal chair all day long. . They need a different type of chair. The bean bag chair allows the students to sit in a way that allows their body to relax. The moon chair gives my students in wheelchairs the ability to have seating that allows them to sit up and stretch.

My goal of this project is to give the students a place to sit and take a break with sensory items to assist in self-regulation.

The difference in the chairs is to assist different types of students. The variety of sensory items will allow meeting different sensory needs. The light up sensory items will allow my students with visual impairments to experience visual and tactile experiences to enhance their learning. My students are special, just because of their beautiful personalities.
