Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, creative, smart, and love hands-on activities. Engaging in challenging projects gives them opportunities to think outside the box and find solutions. My students come from different economic backgrounds; mostly low-income families. Our school is nestled in the heart of Echo Park, an exciting city and quickly evolving neighborhood, and a community of young, creative, artists and musicians.

The fidget sensory tubes, bubble popping toys, and other manipulatives will help my students regulate their feelings and find their favorite method for making a happy calming environment that provides comfort for them.

These manipulatives will enhance our calming corner.

I have also requested furniture such as pillows, a bean bag chair, floor cushion, and a comfy kid-sized sofa to help create a quiet space in our classroom.
