My Students

Who are my students? They are an extremely motivated, talented, hard-working group of 28 third graders. They come every day to a very special charter school in a rural community called Clarksburg. DECS is a school that values exploration of the sciences, Project-Based Learning, and hands-on, real-life learning. As a result, my students come into class each day excited for another day to explore, experience, question, and create.

Collaboration is key for these 3rd graders.

As well, they work hard to produce their best work to present in class and at PBL presentation nights. These projects require them to work as a team to solve real-life problems, such as "How can we protect endangered species?" or "How did Native Americans utilize natural resources to survive?" These students thrive off of finding answers through research they can use in their final presentations.

My Project

We are in great need of a color printer and ink. This new color printer and accessories will benefit all of my students. The printer will allow us to print student research projects and pictures for their Spring Project Based Learning presentations. Our Spring presentation night will focus on protecting Endangered species.

Students will use the new printer for producing vibrant presentation visuals.

As well, my students have recently been introduced to Google Docs, and are experimenting with producing their own writing pieces. An in-class printer would allow them to print final writing pieces such as an endangered species research report. Please help my students enter the world of digital print technology for use in our classroom.
