Pathways to a Greener Future: Climate and Gardening Education
Help me give my students gardening supplies like gardening gloves, potting mix, and gardening tools to create a class garden so I can teach my students about climate change.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We believe that hands-on learning experiences are essential for our students’ growth and development. That’s why we are excited to launch this project to create a classroom garden! We are seeking donations for gardening supplies to help our students explore the wonders of nature, develop teamwork skills, and learn about sustainability.
What We Need:
To make our gardening dreams a reality, we need the following supplies:
• Soil: To create a healthy growing environment for our plants.
• Seeds: A variety of vegetables and flowers to cultivate.
• Gardening Tools: Hand tools like trowels, rakes, and watering cans.
• Planters and Pots: To grow our plants in different spaces.
• Gardening Gloves: To keep little hands protected while they dig and plant.
• Educational Materials: Books and resources about gardening and plant science.
How Your Donation Will Help:
By contributing to our project, you will provide our students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful hands-on activities. They will learn about the life cycle of plants, the importance of healthy eating, and how to care for the environment.
Imagine our classroom filled with laughter and excitement as students plant seeds, nurture them, and watch them grow! This project will not only enhance their learning but also foster a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
Next Steps:
Once we receive the supplies, we will kick off our gardening activities with all students participating. We will hold a planting day, where students will get their hands dirty and work together to create our garden. Throughout the year, we will maintain the garden and document our progress, allowing students to reflect on their learning experiences.
