Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, motivated, and open minded 3rd graders. They are at an age where they want to learn about the world around them. We had a Social Studies Unit on Japan, and they absolutely loved learning about it. They asked if they could learn about every country as in depth as we did about Japan.

I would like to create a research project for my students.

I am requesting books on certain countries (that they have already chosen for a hypothetical situation) in order to provide them an opportunity for independent research. In order to practice organization and do their most efficient work, I have requested journals. The journals will help the students write down any important information that they would like to include on their final poster. Physical globes will play an immense role in helping the students understand the exact location of the country in comparison to the rest of the world.

This project will truly help my students grow in many ways. For one, my students will be provided with a choice of their own, informational books (providing independent research, a journal to practice organization, and an artistic project to display their knowledge to their peers and teachers. Lastly, they will also use the laptops for additional research when we can get a hold of them. Thank you for considering!!
