My Students

My fifth grade students are excited to return to face-to-face instruction and I am eager to return to collaborative discussions and interactive lessons. I am challenged with new ways to teach students within safety guidelines yet still foster positive engaging interactions.

My students will have a choice to use flexible seating options to engage in collaborative discussions.

At MES we believe that every student is unique and we empower students by honoring diversity and maintaining high standards and expectations. Having flexible seating will maximize learning in language arts when they collaborate and share their ideas in small groups or when receiving instruction from service providers. Learning together is much more effective than learning in isolation.

My students come from diverse backgrounds with a range of needs and varied learning styles. Unfortunately, my school does not qualify for Title I services so funding is limited for special projects. Any support from donors would help place equipment and tools in the hands and seats of the students. We appreciate your support.

My Project

My students will be introduced to art from around the world. They will embark on a virtual journey visiting continents from around the world and creating art from different cultures.

Students will learn about highlights and shadows while creating texture with chalk pastels in their African Safari art lesson.

They will make a bento collage while visiting Japan and use watercolors to draw leaves from observation while learning about Canada. Students will use sharpies to draw sugar skull illustrations from Mexico and colored sequins will be showcased in their Trinidad Carnival Headpiece. They will recreate the canal houses of Holland with their crayons and add crinkled tissue paper to their Peruvian Alpacas.

My school does not qualify for Title I services so funding is limited for special projects. Any support from donors would help place art supplies and materials in the hands of future artists.
