This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 6th graders are my babies. They truly make showing up to work such a joy. So many of my students greet me before I can even address the class, are super excited to learn the next sport and participate in the next activity. For my birthday they all signed a card, brought me my favorite candy and made me feel so special. They are problem solvers and have the best sportsmanship, which was so surprising especially after this pandemic year.
I have a group of students in each of my class that I have go get equipment and they love that job!
It makes them look forward to at least one thing in my team sports class and really helps me out as a teacher who is traveling from class to class since I also teach health.
My Project
This will help my students learn many different sports and activities and help me fulfill this focus standard :
3.8.1 Engage in a variety of moderate to vigorous physical activities.
Being able to fulfill this focus standard will allow my students to be exposed to many different sports and activities in order to find passion and skills. The importance of finding passion in a sport will go a long way in the fitness and professional paths these students choose to follow. I am hopeful and excited to be considered in this opportunity.
