Super Scientists! I teach science to all grades, K-5, at our elementary school. The students come to the science lab once a week for 1 hour or more each visit. Our school has a wide range of students in its population. We serve neighborhood children, military families, and children whose families have chosen to send their children on the bus from their home neighborhoods to our small but mighty school. We have a large percentage of free lunch students and many English language learners. While we focus on all academic areas, my classroom is dedicated to the enrichment and enjoyment of science.

During our units in weather and physical science, we are constantly gathering data involving temperature. The thermometers that we use in our classroom are old, keep coming apart and need repairing, and are difficult for the children to read.

To solve our problem, but also to enhance our learning and experiments using temperature and waves, we would like to use the Pasport Probeware. This probeware is digital and the data can be transferred into the computer for comparison. This will get my students straight to the point, rather than spend time waiting for our old thermometers.

Your generosity will ensure that my students have an opportunity to experiment with a variety of substances and their temperatures in a safe, accurate, and engaging manner.
