Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all unique learners with the same end goal, to succeed. I want my students despite their special accommodations to reach their fullest potential and I believe these materials will help them do so. I am a special education teacher in first grade ICT classroom. Over the past few months I have noticed that the students struggling with fine and gross motor skills, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional anxiety would greatly benefit from additional resources in the classroom. That is why I am asking for floor puzzles, caddy, and extra sight word materials to help them shift their energy and focus back to the topic at hand. This will really help my students regain their confidence in the classroom. If you believe you can, you will. I believe in my students and I want more than anything for them to be provided with not only love and support but also the tools necessary for them to succeed.

My Project

Thank you for taking the time to read through my request, as I am a First Grade, Special Education teacher in an inclusion classroom with the most amazing students.

Each student learns in a unique way, and it is up to my co-teacher and me to find a way to fit all of their needs as their learning is essential.

Each student is a key component in our class and having materials to provide our students would make the world of a difference. The sight word floor puzzle as well as the other puzzles are great ways to get students thinking!! The journals for sight words, phonics, vocab, etc are perfect for ALL learners as they come with visuals and big lines so that all writers feel confident writing! The journals are also differentiated, so they will be perfect for small group instruction!

The girls in our class ALWAYS talk about horses...how perfect would it be if we were able to provide them a horse floor puzzle? They could use their minds to fit the pieces together on a topic they are so passionate about! The same goes for the boys that LOVE dinosaurs!! I can not wait to see the look on the students faces as they open the puzzles! What a great way to learn-by having fun!
