This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are always excited for the day's activities. My students live in challenging circumstances but they don't allow these obstacles to get in the way of their passion for P.E. games. My students are hard-working and have real goals for success for their work inside the classroom and out! My students are admirable as so many of them have overcome numerous challenges, even at very young ages. My students are exemplary young people with limitless potential.

I teach at a Title I School in Nevada in which a high percentage of my students come from bilingual homes and all students receive free lunch.

My students often face tough obstacles in their lives but arrive to school smiling and ready to learn. They love their teachers and they adore their principal. Our school truly is a community – a family. We each do our part, as student and teacher work side by side with one mission in mind: our students’ success. We help the students set their goals high and we strive to help them achieve those goals.

My Project

My school currently has no parachutes for its elementary P.E. class. This project will provide my students with parachutes so they can enjoy the same activities that we all loved when we were students in P.E. or at Field Day. Parachute activities are immensely fun but also provide opportunities for students to learn about endurance, weather patterns, balance, speed, teamwork, science, and unity. These parachutes will expand my students' ability to learn all of these concepts while enjoying an engaging, physical activity.

I want to provide my students with fun and excitement when they return to school and there is no better way to do that than with a parachute!

This project will bring happiness and activity to over 600 students. These are students that have been restricted to their homes for months who, when the time comes, will be overjoyed to participate with these parachutes in class. This project will have a huge impact on my students!
