My Project

In my classroom, I encourage learning by using colorful paper so that the students can create one pagers with pop. Pencils are always a classroom go to! I found out I will be teaching reading this year and will need to add incentives so that my 8th graders will want to learn. It's very hard to motivate students in a reading class. My students are from a rough background so it's really important to stress the importance of reading so that their future can be brighter. The Smarties candy will make them feel smart!

Students need to feel important and encouraged.

In order to do this I need to be able to provide incentives so that they are excited to learn. Title 1 kiddos need to feel good about themselves and feel like they matter. I love to show their work in the hallway and in order to do that I also would love to laminate their work so that it can be saved from students taking it down or ruining it. The laminator will allow me to do that. When students see their work on display, they work so much harder to make sure their work keeps getting displayed.

My students are all from a rough background. So when they get praise or recognition they love it. Doing that for them helps build their self esteem and self worth. These students need that in their lives to that they can feel good about themselves.
