I have worked at our school for five years. The students are from low-income families. They work hard and are eager and excited to learn. Our school is a Title I middle school located in a high-poverty area of Oklahoma City. I teach just over 100 seventh-grade students in ELA. COVID has caused many of our students some learning delays. Motivation to learn is at an all-time low, especially motivation to bring basic supplies.
Now that we have worked our way away from COVID, we must help find fun and exciting ways to motivate our students to learn.
Because our students have been through so much at our school, I have had to replace and update many important classroom supplies. We are working so diligently in our classroom and need to replenish our paper. Hopefully, my students will feel comfortable and motivated to come to class. With our new classroom supplies, we can turn those assignment grumbles into cheers of celebrations!
