Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day in my classroom the students are allotted plenty of time for studio art time. This mean that they have access to an ample amount of creative art making time, exploring the techniques and variety of mediums available.

My students are very energetic, expressive and highly creative.

They yearn to make artwork, develop their fine motor skills and create work that is beyond their expectations. The school is located in a low income district, so access to a variety of art materials is not common for the students, that is precisely why finding donations and other ways to provide them with new and different mediums to express themselves is extremely important.

My Project

The students will be using the paint and painting materials to tell a story with their artwork in a mural within the school. Painting supplies can be costly and the students will learn to respect and care for the brushes and other supplies, while developing their artistic skills.

In the mural painting class the students will learn how to communicate their vision and message to the public with paint.

They will collectively design, draw, and paint a large scale mural in the school that impacts their viewers in a meaningful way.
