My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher who teaches 22 curious, enthusiastic students. My students represent a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My school gets very little funding from the district, and almost everything for our classroom is funded by kind parents, generous donors, and me.

My amazing students love learning!

They enjoy participating in science, math, writing, reading, engineering, and art activities because they have fun and feel successful. When activities are engaging, hands-on, and meaningful, my students get captivated in learning and everybody wins.

My Project

Art is a fun way to make the curriculum interactive and engaging. My kindergartners love it when we do art projects in our class. They enjoy our weekly art activities that correlate with our close reading books, often depicting the main character of the story, but sometimes painting is a little overwhelming for them.

Art enhances fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking skills.

We integrate art into science, writing, and even math, and I am excited to incorporate different mediums throughout the entire curriculum.

The liquid watercolors are a great substitute for pan watercolor paints as they produce a rich, vibrant color without trying to figure out how much water to put on the messy, tiny cakes. Having paintbrushes that are the right size and not frayed will make it so much easier for my students as well. The cups will help our classroom have fewer spills, which are inevitable in kindergarten. My students will feel like true artists (and look so cute too) wearing their aprons, having their own palettes, and painting their own special canvas. I can't wait for them to have this opportunity!
