My Students

Our classrooms are fun places to learn. We work hard, and strive to provide an educational experience for each child at their specific level. Our classrooms are like a family. We support one another and celebrate each other as we make progress throughout the year.

Our students love learning and we feel it is our job to provide them the best education possible so they will have the keys they need to unlock their potential.

In the classroom we work very hard and we want the students to feel comfortable learning in their own way. We teach in a Title I school, and we aim to keep our school community positive. Our students love coming to school.

My Project

With the high academic expectations in Kindergarten in the core subjects, art is something that is often cut out. I believe strongly that art and creative expression not only engages students, but maximizes their learning when incorporated effectively. I try my best to include art projects, both big and small, throughout our study of math, reading, and writing. However, this is very difficult without the necessary supplies.

Since most of my students do not have access to any art supplies at home, I believe providing them with opportunities to be creative at school with a variety of materials is even more vital.

If you were a fly on the wall of my classroom on a day I bring out any type of art supplies, you'll notice the excited energy and big smiles from students immediately.

Right now with the supplies I have, I can only do art projects with only 2-3 students at a time. This drastically increases the time it takes for a whole class to complete a project, and reduces the number of total projects I am able to do. The supplies I am requesting include large sets of watercolors and a class set of paint brushes, which will allow the entire class to work on a project at the same time.
