This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title 1 school and nearly 100% free lunch. My students are very unique and one of a kind. Each of them has their own unique personality that keeps me dedicated to making sure they strive for success.

Many students are thrown into the world without the knowledge needed to succeed, unprepared not knowing what to expect.

Students usually do not find social studies very interesting but with the right materials and resources we can make social studies more interactive and lively. Students will be able to open their minds to the world beyond their surroundings.

My Project

This might be true but is there a way that students CAN make their own history?

One of my biggest goals is finding creative ways to engage my learners in the process of becoming a historian. This year I have teamed up with the other teachers in our EXCEL academy with a plan. We intend to hold a Painting with a DJ Twist for our entire campus.

Students will be supplied with art materials including paint, canvas, brushes, aprons, and easels. Upon arriving our artists will be greeted by the sounds of the different cultures that make up our diverse history. They will then be engaged in painting their own creative rendition of a historical work. Please help us fund this project and bring history to life at B Middle School.
