Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books I am requesting will significantly enhance my students’ learning by giving them access to a diverse range of literature. With more books available, students can discover new genres, explore different cultures, and develop critical thinking skills through reading. Engaging, age-appropriate books will also help strengthen their vocabulary, comprehension, and overall literacy. For struggling readers, having a variety of leveled texts will allow them to practice at their own pace and build confidence.

My goal is to create a classroom library that sparks curiosity, encourages independent reading, and supports academic growth.

I want my students to see books as both a learning tool and a source of enjoyment. By expanding our library, I aim to foster a love of reading that extends beyond the classroom and into their everyday lives. Additionally, I hope to use the library to promote diversity and inclusion by providing books that reflect a variety of voices and experiences.

My students are an incredible group of creative, kind, and inquisitive learners. They come to class each day eager to grow and explore new ideas. Their curiosity and resilience inspire me, and I want to provide them with the best possible resources to nurture their potential. Each student brings their own unique perspective, and by building a diverse library, I can help them see themselves in the stories they read while also introducing them to new cultures, experiences, and ideas.
